CHIAs is currently the principal recipient (PR) of Supporting Community-driven\u00a0 achievements of the End TB Strategy in Laos (Savannakhet province). The overall goal that the project\u00a0 seeks to achieve is to contribute to the End TB Strategy targets in Lao PDR through targeted, equitable\u00a0 support for decentralization of quality TB services. This will be achieved through the specific objective\u00a0 to increase access among vulnerable populations in Savannakhet Province, including men, women and\u00a0 children, to quality, gender-responsive, equitable and integrated TB services in 15 districts in\u00a0 Savanakhet province.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Position Summary:\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Field Outreach Supporter Leader will play a crucial role in contributing to the End TB Strategy\u00a0 targets in Savannakhet province by leading and coordinating field outreach activities to increase access\u00a0 to quality, gender-responsive, equitable, and integrated TB services among vulnerable populations and\u00a0 people affected by TB in Savannakhet Province. The main responsibility is to support community\u00a0 outreach supporters and village health volunteers in conducting TB screening, linking suspected cases\u00a0 to GeneXpert testing and X-ray examinations, and supporting treatment adherence.<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Leadership and Coordination:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&#8211; Lead and manage a team of community outreach supporters, adapting to the local\u00a0 hierarchical structure<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Develop and implement culturally appropriate outreach strategies to reach vulnerable\u00a0 populations, including ethnic minorities, women, and children<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Coordinate with provincial and district health authorities, village chiefs, and other\u00a0 local stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of TB services<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Training and Capacity Building:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&#8211; Conduct training sessions for community outreach supporters on TB prevention,\u00a0 detection, and treatment adherence, incorporating local beliefs and practices<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Develop and update training materials and tools in Lao language, considering local\u00a0 literacy levels<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Mentor and support field outreach supporters to improve their skills and performance,\u00a0 addressing cultural sensitivities<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Community Engagement:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&#8211; Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders, Buddhist temples, local\u00a0 organizations, and vulnerable populations<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Organize and participate in community awareness events and campaigns to promote\u00a0 TB services, aligning with local festivals and gatherings<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Identify and address cultural, social, and gender-related barriers to accessing TB\u00a0 services, particularly in rural areas of Savannakhet Province<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>\u0e81\u0eb2\u0e99\u0e95\u0eb4\u0e94\u0e95\u0eb2\u0ea1 \u0ec1\u0ea5\u0eb0 \u0e9b\u0eb0\u0ec0\u0ea1\u0eb5\u0e99\u0e9c\u0ebb\u0e99<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&#8211; Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation tools adapted to the local context\u00a0 and literacy levels<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Collect, analyse, and report data on outreach activities and their impact on TB case\u00a0 detection and treatment outcomes, considering local health information systems\u00a0 DHIS2<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions, taking into account\u00a0 local resource constraints<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>Quality Assurance:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&#8211; Ensure that outreach activities adhere to Lao National TB Program guidelines and\u00a0 international best practices<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Conduct regular field visits to assess the quality of outreach activities, considering\u00a0 local transportation challenges<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Implement quality improvement measures to enhance the effectiveness of TB\u00a0 services, adapting to local healthcare infrastructure<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li>Collaboration and Reporting:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&#8211; Liaise with project management, provincial and district health authorities, and partner\u00a0 organizations to ensure alignment of outreach activities with overall project goals and\u00a0 local health priorities<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Prepare and submit regular reports on outreach activities, challenges, and\u00a0 achievements in both Lao and English<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Participate in project meetings and contribute to strategic planning and decision making processes, considering local health system structures<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Bachelor&#8217;s degree in public health, social sciences, or related field (Master&#8217;s degree\u00a0 preferred)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Minimum of 5 years of experience in community health outreach in Lao PDR,\u00a0 preferably in TB or other infectious disease programs<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Proven leadership and team management skills in a Lao context<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Strong understanding of TB prevention, detection, and treatment strategies, including\u00a0 knowledge of traditional healing practices<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Experience in developing and implementing training programs adapted to rural Lao\u00a0 settings<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate local\u00a0 cultural norms<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Fluency in Lao and English (both written and spoken); knowledge of local ethnic\u00a0 languages in Savannakhet Province is an advantage<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; In-depth familiarity with the local context, culture, and health system of Savannakhet\u00a0 Province<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;
