The Community Health and Inclusion Association (CHIAs) is a registered non-profit Lao Civil Society \u00a0organization with over 20 years of experience in promoting health and inclusion among key vulnerable \u00a0populations and people in Savannakhet province. CHIAs is currently the principal recipient (PR) of \u00a0Partnership to End HIV\/TB in Champasak Province. The overall goal that the project seeks to achieve \u00a0is to contribute to the End HIV\/TB Strategy targets in Champasack province through targeted, equitable \u00a0support for decentralization of quality HIV\/TB services. This will be achieved through the specific \u00a0objective to increase access among vulnerable populations in Champasack Province, including men, \u00a0women and children, to quality, gender-responsive, equitable and integrated HIV\/TB services in 01 \u00a0capital and 07 districts in Champasack province.<\/p>\n
Position Overview:\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
By focusing on these tasks, the Field Assistant will significantly contribute to the project’s goal of\u00a0 strengthening the health system in Lao PDR and improving healthcare accessibility, quality, and\u00a0 outcomes for all citizens, particularly in vulnerable communities within Champasack Province. The\u00a0 main responsibilities of this position include supporting community outreach supporters, peer\u00a0 counselors, and village health volunteers in implementing activities related to their plans. This involves\u00a0 following up on the quality of their work to ensure that target beneficiaries are satisfied with the services\u00a0 provided by community providers. Additionally, the Field Assistant will support data collection and\u00a0 ensure that all established indicators are entered into the DHIS2 system on time, as well as assist the\u00a0 field coordinator with assigned tasks.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n – Assist in organizing and participating in community meetings<\/p>\n – Support distributes informational materials in local languages<\/p>\n – Coordinate with village leaders to ensure maximum participation<\/p>\n – Support the adaptation of communication strategies to local customs and beliefs<\/p>\n – Set up mobile ACF screening in remote areas and HIV\/TB testing for key vulnerable \u00a0populations<\/p>\n – Guide participants through the screening process<\/p>\n – Ensure proper handling and labeling of samples<\/p>\n – Maintain a patient database in DHIS2<\/p>\n – Conduct follow-up visits to ensure treatment adherence<\/p>\n – Provide reminders and support to patients via phone or in-person visits<\/p>\n – Implement the trio strategy for people affected by TB, HIV, and Malaria<\/p>\n – Liaise between community members and health centers<\/p>\n – Schedule appointments for further testing or treatment<\/p>\n – Maintain accurate records of referrals and treatments<\/p>\n – Distribute preventive tools (e.g., insecticide-treated bed nets, condoms, TB preventive \u00a0therapy)<\/p>\n – Educate on proper use of preventive tools<\/p>\n – Gather data on disease prevalence, treatment outcomes, and community engagement – Enter data into the project’s DHIS2 reporting system at district and provincial levels \u00a0– Prepare regular reports for the filed coordinator<\/p>\n – Assist in conducting baseline surveys to assess intervention impacts<\/p>\n – Organize and lead group discussions on disease prevention and health promotion \u00a0– Address myths and misconceptions about diseases and treatments<\/p>\n – Attend training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills related to HIV\/TB – Share information with Village Health Volunteers<\/p>\n – Monitoring and Evaluation Support:<\/p>\n – Support the M&E framework to improve project interventions<\/p>\n – Assist in respecting traditional practices while promoting evidence-based interventions<\/p>\n – Maintain inventory of medical supplies, including sputum boxes, rapid test kits, and \u00a0preventive materials<\/p>\n – Report monthly stock shortages or surpluses to project coordinators<\/p>\n – Ensure cultural sensitivity in all activities<\/p>\n – Promote integration of HIV and TB services<\/p>\n – Support the overall project goals and objectives in the target field<\/p>\n \u0e81\u0eb2\u0e99\u0eaa\u0eb6\u0e81\u0eaa\u0eb2<\/b>: Bachelor’s degree in public health, community health, or a related field.<\/p>\n Experience<\/b>: 1-2 years of experience in community health projects or public health initiatives.\u00a0 Experience working with local communities in Lao PDR is preferred.<\/p>\n \u0e97\u0eb1\u0e81\u0eaa\u0eb0:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n Knowledge<\/b>: Basic understanding of malaria, HIV, and tuberculosis, and public health principles.
