On August 17, 2023, Dr. Chansy Phimphachan, the Head of the Lao CSO Coordination Committee (LCCC), along with the secretariat of the Lao CSO Coordination Committee, attended the annual meeting of the project management committee for the CiSAC-19 project. This project focuses on the contribution of social organizations to preventing and reducing the risk of COVID-19 in the Lao PDR. The meeting took place at the Lao Plaza Hotel and was chaired by Dr. Phonepaseuth Xayamoungkhoun, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Communicable Disease Control. Other attendees included Mrs. Carol Anne Mortensen, Country Director of Plan International Laos; Mr. Phonesavanh Sethanaphaixanh, Programme Manager for Youth and Gender Development at the European Union Delegation in Lao PDR; and Dr. Chansy Phimphachan, the Head of the Lao CSO Coordination Committee. Additionally, representatives from national authorities, Lao Civil Society Organizations, health staff, and technical staff from associations that receive funding to implement activities and projects were present.<\/p>\n
The primary purpose of the meeting was to report the outcomes of the project’s implementation as it reached its conclusion. This included an evaluation and interpretation of the results of all the projects, as well as a financial report. Concurrently, the meeting also marked the launch of the website for Lao social organizations. This website serves as a central hub of information, facilitating access to funding opportunities, capacity development, and information about the work of Lao Civil Society Organizations.<\/p>\n
