Job Description

The Lao Development of Human Resources in Rural Areas Association (LaoDHRRA) is a non-profit association registered with the Ministry of Home Affairs. LaoDHRRA is committed to supporting the poverty alleviation policy in rural areas and achieving socio-economic development goals. LaoDHRRA plays a vital role in responsible investment in agriculture (RAI) and sustainable forestry, aligning with the government of the Lao PDR’s vision for future success.

We are currently seeking a specialized technical staff member to join our team. The key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Coordinating with the Factory Board and Factory members to actively participate in meetings and capacity-building training.
  • Preparing objectives, goals, meeting agendas, determining meeting locations, identifying training participants, managing meeting budgets, and creating and sending invitation cards for various meetings.
  • Engaging in communication and participation in meetings with the FSO-MAF coordination office, GIZ ProFEB, donors, and other relevant colleagues.
  • Preparing for and participating in various technical meetings related to factory work, such as FLEGT-VPA, TWG, TEG, and TLDs.
  • Facilitating factory work meetings and collaborating with factory members and the steering committee.
  • Providing regular updates on factory work progress to members, the board, the project coordinator, and related colleagues.
  • Assisting in updating factory work information from CSOs to the FSO-MAF coordination office.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in law, forestry, agriculture, or related fields, along with relevant experience.
  • Lao nationality, aged between 25 and 45.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience working with the public sector, international organizations, or associations.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
  • Fairly good English communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Good health and willingness to travel to remote areas or other provinces for work.
  • Strong teamwork, managerial, responsibility, and communication skills.
  • Commitment, punctuality, eagerness to learn, confidence, and adaptability.
  • Possession of a motorcycle driver’s license is preferred.
  • Availability to work starting from September 2023 for a 9-month period.
