About the Role
The Lao Ministry of Health, with support from Expertise France, seeks a consultant to conduct a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI)-informed baseline survey in Bokeo Province. This survey will focus on HIV, TB, and malaria to guide integrated and gender-sensitive healthcare interventions.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop survey tools and lead the design of the study methodology.
  • Train and supervise data collectors to ensure ethical and accurate data gathering.
  • Conduct fieldwork, oversee data collection, and maintain quality assurance.
  • Analyze data and produce a comprehensive report with actionable recommendations.
  • Present findings to stakeholders during a dissemination workshop.

Qualifications Required:

  • University degree in health sciences, social sciences, or international development.
  • 5–7 years of experience in conducting health-related baseline studies.
  • Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research, with a focus on GESI.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills in English.
  • Familiarity with working in developing countries, preferably Southeast Asia.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced degree in public health, epidemiology, or a related field.
  • Experience with HIV, TB, and malaria studies in Laos or the region.
  • Knowledge of Lao language is an advantage.
