About the Role
The Lao Ministry of Health, with support from Expertise France, seeks a consultant to conduct a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI)-informed baseline survey in Bokeo Province. This survey will focus on HIV, TB, and malaria to guide integrated and gender-sensitive healthcare interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop survey tools and lead the design of the study methodology.
- Train and supervise data collectors to ensure ethical and accurate data gathering.
- Conduct fieldwork, oversee data collection, and maintain quality assurance.
- Analyze data and produce a comprehensive report with actionable recommendations.
- Present findings to stakeholders during a dissemination workshop.
Qualifications Required:
- University degree in health sciences, social sciences, or international development.
- 5–7 years of experience in conducting health-related baseline studies.
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research, with a focus on GESI.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills in English.
- Familiarity with working in developing countries, preferably Southeast Asia.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced degree in public health, epidemiology, or a related field.
- Experience with HIV, TB, and malaria studies in Laos or the region.
- Knowledge of Lao language is an advantage.
