The organization’s background

Gender Development Association (GDA) is a leading Gender Rights Non-Profit Association, working throughout Lao PDR since 1991. GDA works to empower women, gender diversity, and disabled people to achieve gender equity through joint action, knowledge sharing, and ending gender-based violence and discrimination.

Scope of work/Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive marketing and communication strategy aligned with the project/organization goals.
  • Actively participate in meetings related to communications, PR, media, program deliverables, reports, branding, and marketing guidelines.
  • Assist team to host events or public outreach/awareness campaigns.
  • Provide technical editing and formatting support for program deliverables, reports, written content, media releases, website content, Facebook page, and campaign materials.
  • Develop and manage content for social media platforms, actively engaging with other GDA projects and partners to achieve project objectives.
  • Ability to train GDA project staff in photography, interview consent, and documenting beneficiary stories in alignment with GDA’s safeguarding policy.
  • Ability to travel to project sites to collect information and produce media stories. Interact effectively with children, and rural community.
  • Proficiency in using various software tools for content creation, design, and data analysis.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in English language, communications, media, journalism, marketing or any related field preferred.
  • At least three years’ experience in marketing and communication support for conducting social media platforms; online content activities, providing media advisory services, and public relations to meet project outcomes.
  • Proven experience in a communication role and comprehensive written documents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
