Enhancing Collaboration between Government and Civil Society Organizations: A Step Towards Sustainable Development

Vientiane Capital, May 9-10, 2024 - The CEGGA II Programme supported the Ministry of Home Affairs and Lao CSO Coordination Committee in organizing the Annual Meeting between the Government and Lao Civil Society Organizations (Lao CSOs) to foster collaboration, present achievements, and exchange insights on the roles and contributions of CSOs towards national sustainable development and socio-economic progress.

The meeting is honorably chaired by His Excellency Nisith Keopanya, Vice Minister of Home Affairs, and brings together representatives from various line ministries alongside over 150 associations and foundations from across the nation. It provides an opportunity for CSOs to showcase impactful projects undertaken over the past years, emphasizing their commitment to enhancing community welfare and advancing development initiatives.

This meeting marks a significant step towards stronger partnerships and collaboration. By working better together, the government and CSOs are paving the way for a more inclusive, prosperous, and sustainable future for all.

Team Europe’s CEGGA II Programme is funded by Switzerland, Germany and the European Union, and is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in cooperation with the Ministries of Home Affairs and Justice, the National Assembly, and the Lao CSO Coordination Committee.
