Overview

The SYCP Initiative aims to build safer and more resilient communities through the power of sport, focusing on preventing youth involvement in crime and violence.

Who’s Behind the Initiative?

  • International Olympic Committee (IOC)

  • Agence Française de Développement (AFD)

  • Alliance of Sport in Criminal Justice (AoS) – Coordinator

  • Laureus Sport for Good – Fund Manager

What Kind of Projects Are Eligible?

Projects must use sport as a tool to address crime prevention, based on one or more of the following tiers:

  1. Primary Prevention – Build resilience and inclusion to prevent crime.

  2. Secondary Intervention – Target youth at risk of offending.

  3. Tertiary Intervention – Rehabilitate youth already in conflict with the law.

📍 Must take place in one of these countries: Lao PDR, the Philippines, Thailand, or Vietnam

Grant Types

  1. Single Organisation Impact Grants

    • Budget: €50,000–80,000

    • Duration: 18 months

  2. Collective Impact Grants (multiple orgs)

    • Budget: €80,000–150,000

    • Duration: 18 months

📝 Co-funding is encouraged and will strengthen your application.

Application Requirements

  • Align with SYCP’s Theory of Change

  • Use sport to address youth crime prevention

  • Submit through the online form only

  • Language: English preferred, but Lao, Thai, Filipino, and Vietnamese are accepted.

Mandatory Events for Selected Grantees

  • 🔹 Leadership Programme: In-person training in Bangkok, late 2025

  • 🔹 SYCP Conference: Bangkok, November 2025

  • 🔹 Learning Conference: Early 2027

 Budget must include travel, accommodation, and allowance for relevant staff.
