Main Goal

Support national and global goals to end the epidemics by 2030, ensuring the appropriate involvement of communities and civil society, and respect for the needs and rights of key, vulnerable and marginalised communities;

  • Ensure that key, vulnerable and marginalised communities have access to nutrition and the mental healthcare services that they need;
  • Strengthen financial commitment by domestic and donors towards health, rights-based, gender-transformative and people-centred Universal Health Coverage;
  • Promote and ensure that empowerment, rights and gender approaches are integrated in all new and revised programmes, policies, and frameworks on health and development that affect the key, vulnerable and marginalised groups

Target Group

Young key, vulnerable population (KVP) who are living and affected by diseases including people Who Use and Inject Drug (PWUD-PWID), LGBTIQ, Sex Workers, Mobile & Migrant including ethnic and disability

Job Description

Community Health and Inclusion Association (CHIAs) is currently seeking candidates for the position of Community Base Supporter (CBS) with 19 available positions, as outlined below:

  • 9 positions in Vientiane
  • 5 positions in Savannakhet
  • 5 positions in Champasak
    CHIAs is an organization dedicated to advancing community participation, gender equality, gender roles, and the eradication of all forms of violence and discrimination against individuals affected by diseases, including women and children.

Key Responsibilities:

Promote the Index Testing activity at the ARV center to individuals living with HIV, encouraging them to accompany their partners for HIV testing.
Identify and engage the target group of men who have sex with men through social media, social networks, and relevant platforms.
Provide education and guidance on HIV/AIDS, STDs, prevention methods, and the distribution of condoms and lubricants, along with conducting risk assessments for HIV and STDs.
Educate the group at risk, such as gays, lesbians, or transgender individuals, about the liquid test kit and oral testing for anti-HIV antibodies.
Facilitate access for individuals who test positive through oral testing to district, provincial, and central hospitals.
Assist HIV-infected individuals in accessing anti-OI/ARV drug treatment through Primary Health Centers (PHCs).
Maintain monitoring and support for individuals undergoing anti-OI/ARV treatment within the community.
Promote the use of PrEP for preventive measures before exposure to infection, particularly for mixed-blood couples and individuals providing services.
Provide bi-monthly progress reports at the beginning and end of each month for the aforementioned activities.
Participate in regular meetings, trainings, and events as required, both within and outside the province.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets set by the organization.
Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Lao nationality, and individuals from the specified areas (Vientiane, Savannakhet Province, Champasak Province) will be given special consideration, aged between 18-35.
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in medicine or social work will be prioritized.
  • Relevant experience in development work and social volunteering.
  • Proficiency in communication, coordination, and teamwork.
  • Strong communication skills, including familiarity with Smartphone usage, Social Media, and E-MAIL.
