Position Title: Lawyer
Duration: October 2025 – June 2026 (7 months, with possibility of extension)
Location: Association for Development of Women and Legal Education (ADWLE), Vientiane Capital

About ADWLE

The Association for the Development of Women and Legal Education (ADWLE) is a non-profit social organization established in 2012 under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

ADWLE’s mission is to:

• Promote gender equality and women’s rights

• Eliminate violence against women and children

• Combat human trafficking and promote safe migration

• Ensure women’s access to justice in Lao PDR through free legal consultation and assistance services

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice on legal aid operations to ADWLE legal clinic lawyers

• Offer legal counseling, draft relevant legal documents, and provide advice to clients

• Represent eligible clients (especially women and children victims of domestic violence, sexual harassment, and human trafficking) at all stages of legal proceedings

• Draft and revise claims/petitions, review legal documents, and follow up on cases regularly

• Collect client information, maintain and monitor the Clinic Case database system

• Build trust and maintain strong collaboration with law enforcement offices in Vientiane Capital

• Develop simple, accessible legal materials (brochures, pamphlets) for clients and the public

• Attend trainings, meetings, and events assigned by the Director

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Science, or related field (required)

• Must hold a lawyer ID card with at least four years of legal experience

• Ability to work under pressure; detail-oriented, punctual, and quick learner

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Strong communication and coordination skills with government agencies, communities, and organizations

• Fluency in Lao and English (written and spoken)
