About the Project

ACD Laos is enhancing food security and livelihoods in Salavan Province through community-based infrastructure like kitchen gardens, fishponds, mushroom houses, goat shelters, and community centers. To ensure safety and compliance with national standards, we’re seeking a skilled Construction Consultant to assess existing structures, design standardized models, and build local capacity for future construction.

What You’ll Do

• Assess: Inspect current infrastructure, identify safety risks, and ensure compliance with Lao building codes.
• Design: Create standardized, regulation-compliant models with technical drawings and Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
• Train: Empower ACD staff and community builders with construction best practices.
• Support: Assist with local approvals and deliver comprehensive reports.

• Assessment Report with recommendations
• Design Package (models, drawings, BoQs)
• Training Report
• Final Report and Approval Framework

Who We’re Looking For

• Degree in civil engineering, architecture, or construction management
• 5+ years of experience in rural infrastructure and compliance
• Knowledge of Lao construction codes and safety standards
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp)
• Experience in training and field supervision
• Comfortable working in remote areas
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is a plus

Timeline

• Assessment: By April 10, 2025 (up to 3 days)
• Design & Planning: By April 14, 2025 (up to 5 days)
• Training & Support: By September 30, 2025 (up to 6 days)
• Reporting & Approvals: By September 30, 2025 (up to 6 days)

Compensation

• Consultant fee paid by ACD Laos based on days worked (“up to” specified limits).
• Contractor covers field trip expenses (travel, accommodation, food).
