A discussion meeting on the FLEG program between the Committee for the Lao Civil Society Organizations Network involved in forest law implementation, management, and timber trade (LCFN) and the Lao Civil Society Coordination Committee (LCCC), Lao CSOs Sector Working Group on Agriculture and Rural Development (CSWG-FARD) was held on March 11, 2024, at New Rose Hotel, Vientiane capital. The meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Chansy Phimphachan, the Head of the Lao CSO Coordination Committee (LCCC) and Mr. Bounkeua Vongsalath, Chairman of the Lao CSO FLEGT. There were 16 participants in total, including representatives from LCCC, the Committee of Lao CSO FLEGT, CSWG-FARD, and CEGGA, with 9 women among them.
The purpose of the meeting was to provide an overview, history, and activities of Lao CSO FLEGT, as well as to present the current activities of Lao CSOs Sector Working Group on Agriculture and Rural Development (CSWG-FARD). Additionally, the meeting aimed to collaboratively define and set the direction for future cooperation.
