Representatives of the Lao Civil Society Organization Coordination Committee (LCCC) participated in the One ASEAN One Response (OAOR) Roadshow held on June 10, 2024 in Vientiane, Lao PDR. This significant regional event convened key stakeholders including the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance (AHA Centre), the ASEAN Secretariat, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and civil society organizations to discuss disaster management and emergency response coordination across ASEAN member states.
The agenda covered vital topics such as the AADMER agreement, regional response mechanisms, and enhancing interoperability between ASEAN and UN response teams. Having civil society participation ensures inclusive and whole-of-society approaches to disaster resilience.
