On February 27, 2024, the Secretariat of the Lao Civil Society Organization Coordination Committee organized a meeting for exchange between civil society organizations and the government in Vientiane Capital. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Kouyang Chuepor, Deputy Director General of the Public Administration Development Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Dr. Chansy Phimphachanh, Chair of the Lao Civil Society Organizations Coordination Committee. Participants included representatives from relevant ministries and departments, as well as representatives from 7 sectors of civil society organizations.
The purpose of this meeting was twofold:
- To present the roles and responsibilities of the Coordination Committee
- To discuss the organization of 7 technical groups within Lao civil society organizations
Additionally, discussions were held to explore potential cooperation with relevant sectors for future collaborations.
